VIRTUES OF LOVE Nuptial painting in fifteenth century Florence June 8th - November 1st 2010 Part of the city itinerary of the "Virtù d'Amore" exhibition held in Accademia Museum, our exhibitiondocuments the private lives of fifteenth century Florentine through paintings which originally decorated bedrooms, and home in general. The scene and stories depicted in these paintings had a fundamental purpose: they were messages - both warning and inducements - of what was considered proper behaviour for a couple, emphasizing the roles of husband and wife who were essentially responsible for the equilibrium of the society of that day. The city museums still conserve the greater part of this legacy. Therefor, this exhibition is also an invitation to visit some of these collections following an interesting itinerarybetween Stibbert Museum, Galleria dell'Accademia, Horne Museum, Bardini Museum, Bargello Museum and Palazzo Davanzati.
